Before becoming one of Northern Ireland’s most sought-after headshot photographers, I had a successful career working behind the scenes in theatre as a Stage Manager – specialising in operas and West End musicals. It was a fascinating career and gave me great insight, that other photographers don’t have, into what I now (and have done for 13 years) with my life, as a headshot photographer.
It was always an absolute pleasure when I got to photograph people starting out on their theatrical journey and entering a profession that I once held dear. Now rather than treading the boards backstage, I get to stay behind the camera and photograph those who work in the professional instead. This is a series of shots from a recent headshot session for local opera singer Anna who needed a portfolio of images for use at auditions and promotional purposes.
