Your Experience… Step-by-Step

It’s what makes our studio experience unique

Getting to know you

1. First, let's connect...

We're all about people - and that's why we love chatting to people about their lives and what we do. We're a small team and Hannah heads up our Client Happiness Department. She'll answer any of your questions, help find the perfect time to get you booked in, in front of Graham's camera and guide you through the whole process. Hannah is like an encyclopaedia about all things at the studio, so there isn't a question she can't answer for you. She's also the fashionable one out of her and Graham, and can help advise on what to bring to your shoot too! Just give her a bell to start the journey with us.

2. Time for your portrait session

Typically, our portrait sessions last around an hour... but we schedule two hours for every client... just in case. We know how new places, new smells and new sounds affect everyone differently - and we want to make sure you feel right at home in our studio - before we begin taking any photos! We've refreshments on tap to get you all ready (if Graham offers, don't say no, as he only ever gets a cup of tea if someone else makes it for him!). Before your shoot, Graham will sit down and have a chat. He wants to find out what brought you to us and what you're looking for out of your experience with us. He'll also show you the different types of products we offer and the different types of style of image, so he can tailor your session exactly to what you expect. During the shoot there's lots of different props and backgrounds to choose from (if you like - but sometimes some people just like it simple - and that's okay too). Afterall, it's your portrait... and we want it to be the best.

Digital Editing

3. We do our 'Photoshop' magic!

Graham may look like an older Harry Potter, but he is a Photoshop wizard! Before you come back to see your pictures to choose your favourites, Graham will choose the very best ones to edit - so you see the very best when you come back. You'll see a slideshow of these when you come back on our big cinema screen... but more on that later... he's working! In the meantime, you can help him! Have a look around your home and think of all the awesome places your portraits could go - then take some photos and send them to us so we can show you what your pictures will look like in your own home... Now that is magic!

4. Get ready for the big cinematic reveal

If you thought your shoot was fun... your big reveal is even more fun! Ok so imagine you'd your own cinema where you could see your own pictures! Well, that's what our big cinematic reveal is all about. We've a huge cinema screen and we'll show you a slideshow of all the pictures we've edited. Then it's your chance to decide what you want to do with them and pick your favourites. Using very fancy schmancy software, Graham will build your order in front of you - showing you what your finished products look like - even virtually on your own walls!

5. From the camera screen to reality!

Once you've placed your order with us at the end of your big reveal session, we'll get to work creating it, in real life. This is where your pictures really come to life. We do all our own printing in house and our local framer finishes everything to perfection - ready to hang on your wall for many many years to come. We'll give you a bell when your products are ready to pick up... but we know you'll be on the phone every day to ask "Are they ready yet?!"

Things we get asked (all the time!)

Sensory awareness

If you or any of your party have any particular needs that you would like to make us aware of, please let us know in advance of your session. We are sensory aware, with all our staff having completed training and examinations with Autism NI. If you need us to turn the lights down, quiet the music, or just want to come to see us before your session – we’re here for you.

Everyone hates having their photo taken

This is perfectly normal, and Graham hates having his photo taken too! We make sure we put you at ease, before we start even taking a single photo. Graham is a great people person and is the master of distraction! So if you're feeling nervous before your session, don't worry. You only have to look at the hundreds and hundreds of reviews we have to see he knows how to get the very best out of you, without you feeling uncomfortable. If you'd like to chat or visit the studio before your session, please just get in touch. It would be no trouble at all.

Nervous dogs

We are used to seeing all sorts of dogs. It goes with the business. Dogs are very much like people. They like their own surroundings and sometimes new environments can take a little getting used to. If your dog is nervous, you may want to bring them to the studio for a good sniff-about before your session. Everyone thinks their dog won't sit or behave, but that's just normal. Trust us, we have seen it all.

Additional needs? Don't be shy

We want your experience with us to not just be great, but truly awesome. If there is anything at all that we can do to help make your experience better please get in touch. You aren't bothering us, and we are here to help.
